Play your part

Mars came to us with a question:

If we could develop an instore promotion that not only leveraged their brand but also helped to do some good in the community, what would it be?

Our answer: Play Your Part.

Play Your Part sees Mars partnering with Volunteer Ireland to fuel Ireland’s volunteers. It is about Mars supporting the volunteer cause in Ireland and encouraging people to get involved in working for the good of their own communities. To do this we created awareness around the great work that volunteers do, brought to light the breadth of opportunities which exist in the volunteering arena and highlighted just how rewarding volunteering can be.

Play Your Part began as a small instore promotion, but it soon became much more that that. With RTE and the Sun on board as media partners, it grew into a massive through the line campaign which encompassed TV, online, radio, press, PR, in store and of course social media.

Mars really got onboard with the idea, so much so that they enlisted their staff as volunteers and used their team building days to transform a special needs school in Wicklow, and the Mars staff even appeared in our press & POS shots.

The campaign is going from strength to strength and Mars will soon be awarding one deserving cause €30,000 to help their good work.
